- Open to amateur golfers who are FULL members of recognised Golf Clubs within the Council of National Golf Unions and who hold an ACTIVE CURRENT HANDICAP at that Club.
- All Competitions shall be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews and to the Local Rules pertaining to each course.
- The Tournament Committee reserves the right to reject any entry and to alter or amend the Conditions. Their decision in all disputes shall be deemed FINAL & BINDING.
- Ties for all voucher prizes will be decided by computation of scores or points over the last 18, 9, 6, 3 holes and then the last hole as shown on the card (nett using the percentage of handicap) with the exception of the Men’s & Ladies Scratch events & the Men’s 72 Hole Stroke play, where there will be a 3 hole play-off. Any playoff will take place as soon as practicable after the completion of the respective event.
- The Tournament Secretary may at his discretion refuse an entry from anyone who failed to turn up for or failed to complete a previous event, without giving the Tournament Committee due notice or cause.
- No competitor may receive more than one voucher prize in any one event.
- All Trophy winners will receive an automatic free entry to the next Tournament to defend their Title. In the event that the competitor has moved outside of the handicap range for that event, a retrospective discount will be applied to any other entry.
- All STROKEPLAY events are officially recognized by the English Golf Union as QUALIFYING COMPETITONS for handicapping purposes.
- The ball & any golf club or other piece of equipment a player uses shall be named on the current conforming list, as issued by the R & A.
- DISTANCE ONLY MEASURING devices are permitted to be used during the Open.
- Declaration of course “unfit for play”. If either course is declared “unfit for play” and the respective Event is not played, a refund of 50% of any entry monies will be made to all entrants in that event.
- Rules of practice – competitors should acquaint themselves with Rule 7-1b of the RULES OF GOLF. The Tournament Committee has ruled that in this instance the Mixed Greensomes Stableford DOES NOT count as practice for the Men’s 72 Hole stroke play event.
- Should the playing handicap of any man increase beyond the upper limit of the Tournament Conditions since entering, they will be required to play from the maximum allowable handicap for that event; Silver Ladies must move from the Silver to Bronze event if their handicap increases to 20.5 or more.
- Dress standards – the Tournament Committee reserves the right to eliminate any competitor from the Tournament, who is in their opinion, not suitably dressed, without refund of entry fees. It is expected that competitors make themselves familiar with the dress requirements of the resident Clubs within their respective Clubhouses.
- Cancellations – all cancellations must be notified in writing to the Tournament Committee. No refund will be made once an event is full except in the event of illness or injury. Any such claim must be supported by a Medical Certificate or similar and is entirely at the discretion of the Tournament Committee. In any event, NO REFUNDS WILL BE MADE AFTER THE CLOSING DATES FOR ENTRIES.
- It is earnestly hoped and expected that the 1st three prize winners in each event, will pay the Tournament Committee the courtesy of attending the Prize Presentation Ceremony, which will take place on Saturday evening after the close of the final event (approximately 7.30pm).
- The player shall start at the time laid down by the Tournament Committee, unless the Committee authorises a change – penalty 2 shots or disqualification (Rule 6.3).
- The Tournament Committee will not accept substitutions without prior consent.
- IT IS A CONDITION OF PLAYING, THAT ALL COMPETITORS PRODUCE EVIDENCE OF THEIR CURRENT ACTIVE HOME CLUB HANDICAP, INCLUDING ANY CDH – ID NUMBER, PRIOR TO PLAYING. FAILURE TO PRODUCE SUCH EVIDENCE MAY RESULT IN YOUR WITHDRAWAL FROM THE CHAMPIONSHIP.
- All competitors, their family & partners are granted temporary membership of the Bournemouth & Meyrick Park Golf Club, for the duration of the tournament.
